US President Donald Trump has also asked for support from foreign leaders because of investigations into the Russia affair. According to the resources, Trump also asked Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to provide Justice Secretary William P. Barr with information that would discredit the investigation of Special Rapporteur Robert Mueller.

A spokesman for the Australian government confirmed the conversation between Trump and Morrison. Government of Australia has always been ready to support the efforts that help “shed more light on matters that would be reviewed,” he said. “The Prime Minister confirmed this readiness once again in conversation with the US President.”

Trump also approached other heads of state and government with requests, the Associated Press reported, citing the Justice Department official. The US president had made calls to Barr’s request.
