The popular chat app ToTok can be downloaded again from the Google Play Store. That while the app was previously suspected of espionage for the United Arab Emirates.
ToTok is an increasingly popular chat app, available in countries where WhatsApp is banned. The app presents itself as a secure chat service that cannot be eavesdropped on.
However, sources of The New York Times claimed the opposite at the end of last year. The app would be tapped by the Arab Emirates so that any shared message can be viewed. The creator of the app would only be front of the local government.
Google and Apple removed the app from their respective app stores, presumably because the espionage came to light. In the meantime, however, Google has again allowed the app to be released in the Play Store.
